First Trailer for James Cameron's 3D movie Avatar of thomas - 25 Aug 2009 18:06:00
A foretaste of the long-awaited 3-D film of James Cameron (, "Aliens", "Terminator", "Titanic") is finally examine in the form of a first trailer. The expensive than 200 million U.S. dollars Motion-Capturing/Animations-Film to set new standards in terms of 3D technology and effects. Cameron has always synonymous with the aim Avatar rotated, THE showcase for 3-D film to produce, and formulate a new 3D film aesthetics and technique. The growing success of 3D shooting seems to be right - this time seems to succeed in 3D of the breakthrough. Not least because the use of the various players and film equipment industry strongly suggests, home theater competition, copy protection and digital projectors are the key words here.
For Cameron, the 3D technology, which makes the experience in movies for completely immersive experience, the viewer is completely immersed in the film and the reality can be forgotten here and now. An illusion that has always been the great goal of entertainment and cinema is the perfect 3D now. And the first critiques of the film shown in some 15 minutes 3D trailers, he seems to have succeeded
A particular innovation has been used for filming: the movements of the actors have been recognized in real time and to transfer the virtual characters of the animated film world, so that Cameron could film with a virtual camera as though everything is a real set. The ratio of CG to be genuine, according to Cameron filmed scenes is about 60% to 40%.

Cameron, (who in recent years a reputation as a preacher of the 3D cinema, "We are born seeing in three dimensions has been established) and the related technology, plans to use the theatrical release of Avatar synonymous to 3D in order to to bring the living room. Through a partnership with Panasonic is to launch some special devices on the market, with which 3D content can enjoy synonymous home. It may be that with Cameron wants to make this film all s.3D technology that is currently possible, but I think that he exaggerates everything a little bit when he almost exclusively landscapes computeranimated integrated. In particular, the avatars are easy to artificially designed. I like them, anyway.

I would much rather realistic maps as unreal landscapes that are not there. How then shall I know whether it would look realistic, if it is deliberately unrealistic?

For me, the trailer certainly looks like the trailer of a XBox 360 or Playstation 2 game, not as a revolutionary movie trailer ...

I give my speakers absolutely right! Also I was very disappointed by the trailer. After all, Cameron wanted to revolutionize the movie.

Moreover, I do not think that 3D will prevail as long as there are no glasses-displays. And here is the cinema industry synonymous cut across already in the foot. For true 3D displays, there will be only for the apartment!

With 3D glasses is easy corrosive!

Look at times regarding VUE and Terragen, it should meet your expectations. Landscape ;-) Animation

...............

Artificial landscapes / nature can, however, tend to suggest and be better accepted by the viewers. Should not be forgotten.
This will show in 10 years but then quite different.

All just a question of rendering power (; Keywords GPU)

I mean MOCAP data are one thing - the display is another.

I sometimes tinker-landscapes, buildings, or in ZBrush figures - which can not Convert In Calculator Moving pictures :-) As consumes render a still image ewigkeiten already - what I then often very desperate and I wait, the models simply save them to new and better hardware. :-(;

Say a poe poe is next ;-)

So gehts mir grad with Vue ... (ne for small 10 second sequence in Pal resolution in its final render quality, the schlechtete stage after preview), he counts already 40 hours and minimum hours required again 20th Nity, and then he was not even that render Poser figures in the way in Poser: (;
That are still out still better than if I try all the Brandenburg forests rotate;)

Antwort von B.DeKid:

Idea

Create landscape in Terragen
Animation of the character in Poser

All according to fetch Cinema 4 D
Create With Xfrog trees

...................

Then render separate

Landscape Lighting +
Characters + Lighting
Particle + light
Ambience Lighting +

then assemble into AE.

Much has changed not at all.

But yes, I know what are you doing now to dürch - but no preference is determined geil ;-)

PS: I said, for example, still images of nen Photo print A3 or A1
Where it is partly set for 48 hours with my 8x7ooer Xeon chips ... more I'm not here :-(;

I do not synonymous. I thought s.Arthur and the Invisibles, and s.irgendeinen others (and I think German) Elves Quark.

"Back to Gaya", "Fern Gully"

They must be designed, of course, but this cute Augenaufschlag after Kindchenschema suits Disney or Spielberg, and even George Lucas (; "Howard the Duck") has extraterrestrial aliens. The decisive factor will be whether Cameron tells the story consistently. If not, it would be a shame. The story has almost more potential as a "matrix". That must wait for one.

I find synonymous. Currently, it is very well accepted. Without doubt it will fizzle out sooner or later, because it does with movies like (you and I understand it, do agree to your heartfelt commitment to 24 frames per second, the frequency equivalent of the golden section), nothing. On the other hand, I wish the movies, the profitable one way or another sensation, for nearly a decade, there was no end of the tunnel in sight. I wrinkle on tasteless spectacle not the nose that had movies to his birth, and it is part of his nature.

What I just think the landscape with respect to animations.
Depth of field of 3D camera has an effect on the rendering!

PS: And a Elfquest elves aka virtual world would be filmed with cool fight scenes and provocative "Elfinnen" I meiin that be nice ;-)
