Play works!, But without Picture and Sound.
Since the representation is indeed working, where do you start?
How do you perceive that the play works, when you see nothing and hear nothing?
In which device the disc is for? In the PC? Then at least there are chances that in addition to playing synonymous Picture and / or likely sound (see, eg codec) In Stehallein? Then reduce the chances to 0

MVCD is an Mpeg1, so it should easily be able to play any PC.
The Stehalleine should be able to play it as soon as he can play VCD's.
I am burning with Nero, the MVCD simply as VCD on CD and have it work ne synonymous in the "Stehalleine":)

The MVCD is a non-standard VCD (as from my above link "MVCD" show) and both can contain as synonymous MPEG1, MPEG2 data. It is not guaranteed that a player that will cope with VCD may reflect auto MVCDs synonymous.
