So, if the playing off of LE works via Firewire, may be actually only a setting error in the inputs. Experiment times but with the input settings. Not the live input use, but the I-Link input. Check whether the I-link inputs are synonymous enabled by default! (Settings USIM logging tool in the top right in the middle - the left of the Reel name)
What do you actually play out if you have anything recorded?
