Just what I was thinking yesterday whether there's collusion, and for the following reason:
Canon has indeed its own accessory shoe on the camcorder. But why? With a standardized shoe would be the one to stop using his Canon a Sony mic, Sony users a Panasonic lamp and the Panasonic user a Canon-Microphone.

Interestingly, the new remote seems adapter that has a Lanc port or next to a jack for some other Fremdherstellerfernbedienungen. That should then work with as any Canon with the new accessory shoe.
