I have a 22 GB Clip (Konzertmitschnitt, fixed camera) with the SonyEX-1 produced. When importing in CS4, there is always hanging, the box has 8 GB of RAM and Vista 64bit. Memory usage: about 2 GB, CPU usage around 30%.
After three attempts, I then tried CS3, as well it went in, was just cut and exported with 100% CPU and 4.5 GB of RAM usage.
Why PPro CS4 uses only 2 GB of RAM? Is the Vista 64 somewhere in the tune?

So my suggestion would be, in Preferences> General at the very bottom "Optimize rendering for the"
memory set.

I would say the synonymous program settings you must check with me (Vista64, 8GB RAM) uses Premiere definitely more than 2 GB!
