Codec packs are likely not solve your problem, are more likely the cause. Read http://www.chip.de/c1_forum/thread.html?bwthreadid=648872 times.
My advice: uninstall!
Mpeg2 should your TMPGEnc X Press states already have to play (and synonymous for Avisynth) of DirectShow filters, if you want to encode, such as Xvid / Divx, you then install the desired encoder separately.
