Infoseite // Question: difference in shutter speed and synchronization time?

Frage von Alex.A:

Hello,

I want to with my Canon 5D in combination with flashbulbs shoot some photos inside.

Exposure settings:
- Aperture 2.8
- Shutter speed: 1 / 160
- ISO: 100
-> Picture slightly overexposed (Flashlamp smallest flash output)

In settings of the shorter shutter speed (due to overexposed Picture) Picture is not correctly exposed. The curtain is closing at the visible and thus half of the picture too dark.
Now I have the 5D read the instructions that the synchronization time with flashbulbs are not more like 1 / 200 may be. I assume that time synchronization with the shutter speed is concerned, is not it?

Since I am completely happy with photograph would like to open Aperture because of depth of field, I do not know how I get a correctly belichtettes Picture can get.

For each tip, I thank in advance.

Gruss
Alexander

for example with a Nd Filters ...

In Flash yes should be the exposure time is about 1 / 60 to move around, is not it? If long ago, I'm in the TV business ...

But with a Nd filter you can make the picture darker ... alternative synonymous two polarizing filters, so to speak, then you will have a second, variable aperture;) is certainly the finer variant ...

maybe a bit stupid question, but the depth of which would suffer or not?

If you have the ND filter only to darken the image at constant aperture setting is used, then no. The synchronization time is also easily the shortest shutter speed at which the shutter for a moment the whole film or sensor area is free (the flash itself radiates so much shorter). In the SLR range, this time depending on the camera in the range between 1 / 60 and 1 / 250 second.
To read the basic photographic terms is quite good this Page:
