Be glad that you mean can not shoot photos. With 540,000 pixels of the chip is likely to still image picture quality in any more than modest.
The videos you transmit, as with all DV cameras, over the Firewire or IEEE 1394 or i-link output on your PC. The course requires a Firewire connection, but the easy and cheap, if necessary via PCI card or PCMCIA card can be retrofitted.

Actually, enough for the transfer via Firewire to the XP and Vista Movie Maker s.Bord located. That the cutting and finishing your film only second or third choice is a different matter. For dubbing it goes. You can take synonymous other Programs. For XP, there is the Scenalyzer whether running on Vista I do not know.
