SonyZ7 - as it is in the quality of 4:3 SD

Question of snakenic:
Dezember 2008

Hello,

I would soon be on a new camera and take my favorite is of the Z7 Sony. Since I have several customers that I with different formats (HD and SD) and would like to use the two synonymous ways of recording (and with or without tape) seems to me that Camera s.geeignetsten. Only one question remains open and I find synonymous no satisfactory answer.

I have a customer of the pictures of me in 4:3 SD on tape wants. Has ever been one with this camera in this mode to work and can give me information about this. As a reference for comparison, I would look at the DVX 100 want to take.

Thank you

Why should of HD 16:9 SD 4:3 after runterskaliert look worse than the SD from a DVX100? Or do you mean the quality of the pictures if you directly in DV / DVCAM 4:3 record?

Reply Dr. Walter Gesierich:

Z 7 at 4:3 saugut.
I'm really fan of 4:3 cameras and have the most high-SONY PD150, so the sharpness in the same league as the Panasonic DVX 100th We have 2 units with Z 7 and my PD150 filmed theater, the Z 7 of the first to 4:3 mode: In direct comparison to the timeline, I was platt of the sharpness, fine adjustment of color and light intensity synonymous. Sure, at extremely low light, the PD150 is superior, but only a bit. It greets Walter

Reply snakenic:

Yes I mean if tape directly on 4:3 SD format.
It is a small region of all channels in this format still works and synonymous in the foreseeable future will not change. And these stations will stop me of the raw material in the above format.

Reply Dr. Walter Gesierich:

Yes, I talk exactly like this: The two 7-Z cameras are already in the tape recording to the SD with 4:3 aspect ratio is written. I do so safely, because the tapes with my SD Camera SONY PD150 into the computer played. Other tapes would Cam do not read them.
And whether I'll probably have read that some HD cameras down at the computer in the camera to 4:3 poorer results, as with normal good SD cameras, I must say since I have noticed nothing. The material is broadcast (and is synonymous actually cut back in a regional television station run), the differences can probably only be found in the laboratory.
Only courage says Walter
