Infoseite // TFT Display: DVI vs.. VGA

Frage von Frank Dinder:

Good morning,
I have a nice TFT display in the offer and consider attack. The goal is that it will be added and s.mein MacBookPro with Final Cut HDV and DV editing. The only fly in the ointment: The display has no DVI port and VGA only. Is that bad and I will worry about later? A DVI <-> VGA adapter was seen in the MB.

Thank you very much
Frank Dinde

I've tried both, it works both synonymous (mini-DVI to DVI will cost ¬ 20 extra). Digital to digital should be better but that tells you so synonymous logic, only that the difference did not seem overly harsh is / that I'm not overly critical. But Wikipedia says about VGA (in view of HDV): "Generally, for high VGA resolutions above SXGA (1280x1024 pixels) as the only suitable, as in analog tube displays and blurring can occur in LCD flat screens in the digitization of the flat panel display controller technology very demanding. "

Critically, however you should be with the quality of his TFTs. These differences are even * I * immediately apparent. Sure, if you are with the MacBook in the store spazierst and it connects s.verschiedene displays, you have it with different values set to do. Some things change but not contrast, response time, resolution, viewing angle. As if only the same thanks to two thirds of the issued equipment. Subjectively, all saw Samsung, LG Phillips and better than Acer, HP and Compaq. What is a Hunni to save if you get headaches?
Also not unimportant: Can the screen tilt? This is rare, but it is important to consider whether the correct working height, because of work - Ergonomics and so ...

Thanks Axel,

then I would rather for the things here might decide

Samsung Syncmaster 205BW
-20 "WXGA (16:9)
Contrast 700:1
Brightness 300cd/m2
-Response time: 6ms
VGA & DVI connector
-Max.Resolution: 1680x1050

The graphics card in my iMac supports only up to the present resolution. I myself have the BW SyncMaster223 and am satisfied.

With a MacBookPro you can afaik (?) Full HD Resolutionerreichen. Icht lack of experience can not judge how important it is to be, but see this thread:

Axel, you've got an Intel iMac? Then, the synonymous 1920x1200, perhaps even more. I control a second monitor with 1920x1080 exactly (!), For the Digital Cinema Preview. The MacBook Pro to the course from synonymous.

Hey, that would be class. In System Preferences> Displays is 1680 x 1050 as the highest option. Could it be that it does, if I see a higher-resolution monitor connected? Would like to go a little documentary about my work on a large screen display and yet fail s.Versuchen, a Toshiba HD-compatible DVD burn (although the Apple DVD player plays it perfectly). As always, many thanks for the tip!

Hunderprozentig.

"Support for external display in extended desktop mode
Digital resolutions up to 1920 by 1200
Analog resolutions up to 2048 by 1536 "(http://www.apple.com/imac/specs.html)

That is so since the beginning of 2006.
