When I receive a 16:9 movie (antenna) has to einstgestellt to 4:3, I'm up / down / left / right black borders.

In any DVD player I know there is a menu item the more concretely the format of the output device. Typically, there are the options 16:9 (widescreen), 4:3 (letterbox) and 4:3 (Pan & Scan). If you have a 16:9 television, you should have enabled here always 16:9. The result is that the DVD player outputs the signal unmodified s.den Television, which then makes the appropriate adjustments (for 16:9 material, therefore, the buckling Picture "equalized").

S.Player is selected the option 4:3 (letterbox), the player performs a conversion of the 16:9 image to 4:3, resulting in a de facto reduction of Vertical Resolution in 16:9 material. When Television is therefore essential for a 4:3 artificially calculated Picture. This then leads to the picture of you described results.

Hello,

typically a 16:9 television offers more than just these two display options. Schau doch mal (possibly in the Instructions) to Zoom1, Zoom2, etc. That would bring the wide-unbiased for full size.

I know the problem mainly of private broadcasters. Given the wide screen is usually with a Logotypes broadcast outside of the 16:9 frame. I must then adjust manual.

In the public-service broadcasters and recognize my own video films, television, the format of itself to auto and switch to widescreen.

The reason is that radiate bungler (Pro7, Sat1, RTL, etc.) are not anamorphic but only in the letterbox method. This may indeed recognize the Television and still zoom in closer, but such features are rarely implemented and would be reasonably broadcast formats synonymous not really necessary.

Sure ... The anamorphic broadcast is determined that a broadcast signal with, in order to give TV a chance to make an appropriate equalization. Probably most viewers would not know anyway, if they have a slightly shrink to picture to himself. The 16:9 stretched to 4:3-Picture does seem synonymous, the least disturbance.

So it bothers me somewhat, because I prefer to watch 4:3 with black bars! ;-)

I think that's very bad indeed when Blödmarkt & Co., showing where most of the wide-screen television to a distorted picture. Is that about to be the future standard of quality?

Degrees last night I was with friends who have a 4:3-documentary on the 16:9 television artificially drawn into the Width.

In my humble question of why not to watch in its original format, the answer came:
"I do not understand now. We still have bought your widescreen TV to a broad picture to have..."
Well, what can you say on it?

Recently there was a show about the fact that people are getting fatter and fatter. In view of the changed viewing habits, I wonder whether it is an optical illusion is ...?! ;-)

You are you sure it is a 16:9 movie and not a movie in widescreen. For that is wider than 16:9, then the synonymous on the 16:9 screen top and bottom bars remain.

I did not know how a DVD player might affect your signal received via antenna.
