Want to take is not always a tripod if I want to make reasonably smooth video recordings with a Handycam. Provides a tripod is suspended? Or is a small camcorder and a heavy tripod counterproductive. Please tips / info.

Hello,
a workable balance stand (Steadicam) is both the weight as synonymous of handling her harder than a classic three-legged stool. - Is that really your goal?
Alternatively, you could be in wide angle, safe standing, both hands, possibly anywhere, or propped up ... freehand filming.
