The transfer via S-Video is analag (not the audio connection via RCA forgotten). The PC has to with an analog-digital converter equipped. Most PCs have only an S-video output to connect to television. S-Video inputs are rather rare and the Quallität is significantly worse than when the same digital signal transfer. Außeredem can shift between Picture and Sound (Unsynchronitäten) occur. Here, with two Quallitätseinbußen be expected. Firstly, through the two conversion s.sich and secondly, through the presumably used "cheap" hardware on PC Page.

The transmission of the signal via USB takes place purely digitally and (as far as I know) in the case of the GS330 without Quallitätsverlust.

(For many other cameras is the USB strictly for use in low Resolutionals Web-Cam or the transmission of the photos used)

In order to be transferred via USB can be mE: Panasonic special software is used. A direct capture in the video editing program of your choice is not possible.

I would therefore recommend to you for little money a Firewire cable (IEEE1395, i.Link) to purchase and to be transferred. This is the seamless manner, videos from your camcorder to a PC and will bring any editing program of direct support. If the PC is no Firewire port, it is a card for 10-20 euros to acquire.

Hello thos-berlin,

Thank you for your quick reply.
Have now synonymous my first attempt behind me.
By means of the included Panasonic software "Sweet Movie Life" the recording to the PC. Is there then as avi file.
This file can then be easily "Magix video deluxe 2008 Pros" and insert edit.

What advantage will a Firewire cable (IEEE1395, i.Link)?
Is the quality better?
My PC has FireWire port, but the camcorder has a DV connection with the named.
Is this the same?

How can I see, or where can I read the GS 330 really means USB transfers without loss of quality?

Many greetings

Hi,
There is no preference whether you get the movie via a USB or Firewire to PC transmit.
Every time you transmit data digitally and because the quality is identical.

A fairly simple method to determine whether the maximum Quallität is the view of the AVI file size. If the file size per hour of video between 12 and 13 GB, then it is the PAL-DV resolution.

The DV camera is connected s.der exactly the Firewire (i.Link, IEEE1394). With the right Firewire connection saves you the use of the Panasonic supplied software and you can cut directly from the capture software (Capture). If the editing software has useful features (eg: Szenenerkennnung), come in this way may be used easier.

Quallitativ it is - in the case of this Panasonic camera - no difference.

Because the camera in contrast to many other MiniDV camcorders a USB 2.0 high speed connection! (Thus, on the Camera synonymous with a large sticker = DV Data Streaming - it) has the mass of other companies only use Full Speed (Full Speed creates a maximum of 1.5 MB / sec - that's not enough for your data recorded 3.125 MB per second ).

You can quickly check synonymous File (Media Player) - is the image size is 720x576 then the optimal quality, ca at 300x200, the camera only a Full Speed connection and converts without issues down to the transfer to ensure (eg Sonywith USB streaming) .

is in 16:9 mode and the media player shows:
768x576
If yes then surely max. Quality.
I think the possibility of using USB and the included software
in AVI format directly to a folder to store quite well.

If I were with the movie making a video clip to email suitable size brings, because somewhere I can adjust what size it is expected to be down? Or is it just a fixed size?
