Infoseite // Which iMac as a mobile editing suite?

Frage von MaestroXXV:

Hey Guys,

I have to buy an iMac before as Moblie editing suite.
The job looks like this.
I'm shooting with the EOS 550D at noon and this material is then drawn on the iMac and now with Final Cut Pro editing + Grading ... so that one evening you can visualize a finished video.
Now the question:

Is the iMac suited?
If so which one?
If not, what system would meet the Anspüchen?

Important here is
, The import rates (ie, you have to encode it still in ProRes? How much time takes it?)
The reliable work-
Render times

It is simply not last as long, but hardly had time because the film has yet to be shown at the event.

I'm looking forward to reply.

Get cut rather a Dell laptop with neat horse power and Edius 5.5 - so you can 550D material in real-time and problem-convert material in each issue ...

Apple just wants to rule the world anyway :-)

Yes he is.

I have a summer of 2008 goes, reibunglos, transcoding of AVCHD to ProRes is a bit faster than real time. With a current model you are doing well, preferably i5 Core or Core i7.

2.6GHz Dual Core 2008 of approximately in real time (slightly faster). I would assume that current iMac achieve better results.

ProRes to high quality, reliable work is a prerequisite, since need not be explicitly asked for.

What do you want to render? Color grading with Color or Final Cut Pro filters inside of? Many filters run in real time with ProRes.

Ouch! Material need is two hours to almost 2 hours to be imported? If you have Edius transcode direct access without complicated ... + Apple Final Cut Pro, I'd take just to have when cutting parallel to impress girls.

Ever thought that there are people that like Final Cut Pro, who are used to work with Final Cut Pro and the other which may Programs in the Final Cut Studio Suite (Motion, Color) reinlaufen pretty good?

Do you think I imagine myself an ugly PC box out or make me a Windows dual boot just so I can edit H.264 natively? You are somehow wrapped wrong;)

Can you help recommend a flight case. When and everything will be transported, the cams even have a special customized edition.

Thanks Thanks for the answers.

Edius I did not until now, have until now only with CS4, FP and Avid cut.
This does not transform in this case is a very big argument, but another editing program to learn, unfortunately rather not but definitely a plausible reason.

Probably I will stay at the iMac and Performance seems to be Ok and the Flight Case is synonymous quite nice.
Grading is likely to filter unless Color me grow fond of what I suspect and if the Render / Cliperstellungszeiten are passable.

My tip, if it is not "umbedingt NEN Mac must be"

2 units Xeon Einhaeit for the 19 "rack units to two hard disks rack slot .... everything in NER 6-8 units Fight Rack Case ...

Then a flight case for the monitor or the two monitors ;-) ;-)

Walk in AVID DNxHD
