Hi,
I have with Final Cut Pro via FireWire directly of the DV VTR for a friend a couple of tapes recorded. Now I have a handful of PAL DV QuickTime files (25i, 48kHz/16bit) and would like to know if he or she is with Vegas 8 can use it directly.
Of course I have zero clue Vegas unfortunately.

Yes, he may, if synonymous DV-AVI for use in Vegas something would have been beneficial.

What benefits would the AVI container with?
(Maybe 'ne stupid question, but as I said in Vegas, I'm really not in the picture, sorry!)

Vegas can create many different container formats efficient process, but in a Quicktime container is always a piece of playback performance abgezwackt. Same video stream in an AVI container would have a better playback performance.
