there is only one standard DV codec. You have probably heard so many codec packs installed, that thou comest as confused.
forget everything as divx, xvid, ...
in windows it is as Microsoft DV. The swallows synonymous Virtual Dub without problems, and Final Cut synonymous. This is the same format in which you captures
