Buena Vista Home Entertainment (Disney) and Flexplay are developing a new type of DVD especially for lazy, movie-renting people: The so-called EZ-D will get unreadable after 48 hours due to a chemical reaction, which means it won't be necessary to bring it back to the store where it was rented. Instead, it becomes waste. The project is heavily criticized by environmentalist groups.
