Infoseite // 380MB AVI becomes 2.8GB DVD movie?

Frage von LordBlackthorn:

Moin,

I must be from jobtechnischen reasons for the first time with DVDit Pro 6 employ the company Sonic and desperation here straight. I almost fear that it is a very stupid mistake is embarrassing that I even do all the time.

I have several video files in the XVID codec, this is about 45min long and approximately 380MB in size. If I have one of these files to DVD add, I have 4.7 GB of my suddenly only from 1.9 GB available. And with a 380MB AVI?

I have now a complete Denkblockade or s.irgendeiner is the coding?

Is logical: XVID MPEG-4 is a variant, while a DVD-Video MPEG2 always used. This means that the Umcodierung, they like you name, it must first fairly rechenaufwändig (takes time) and the result is a much larger file as MPEG4 compressed significantly more than MPEG2.
