Infoseite // Laptop for AVCHD editing on Edius NEO (Intermediate) searched

Frage von Addie:

Hi All,

maybe I should buy myself a new PC for the work to be cut on this film for the employer. Because I'm home with Edius NEO 2, but not native AVCHD (goes with NEO I do not think anyway), but via the Canopus HQ, it has actually not an overly fast PC to be synonymous. I have a 3 years old with dual-core 2x2, 67 GHz and 3 GB of RAM so I could not even cut GraKa native HDV and AVCHD with a small detour Canopus HQ is synonymous total liquid.

It will now be more synonymous and my responsibility to create records in various fora, which I would actually make s.liebsten on a netbook, not just to scribble on paper and afterwards rewrite it all again.

But since I probably have no netbook AND PC get a new cut from the employer, I wonder whether I should propose a compromise and apply for a laptop for both.

Now the question is: which laptop I fulfilled my wishes? What are the performance it must have at least (Processor, RAM, GraKa, HD). Can I fix the og's performance or is synonymous with less? It should not be too large and heavy (no) more than 17 "part, because I will be traveling to, but synonymous have enough power to at NEO 2 as described above AVCHD 's cut. A netbook is the power to cut not give yes (or?), but synonymous, I think that the DV editing on a 10 "- display or make such a joke would ...

What do you think how big the screen should be at least, 15.4 "but enough (still working only with a video window, not) in the dual mode, right?

The balancing act between enough power as light as possible and not skinny, too big, enough for DV editing, but synonymous for office, do not find it so easy when it comes to choice. And the time is now huge.

And what operating system? I own WinXP, NEO 2 is synonymous with Vista? Or would you rather jump Win7?

A notebook with such a performance is sufficient for Edius NEO2/5.1 very good. As operating system I "would be Windows 7 x64".

In terms of performance, you need to you make any big ideas. I cut AVCHD / Canopus HQ on an "old" Athlon 3500 system with 2 GB of RAM, and it works smoothly. Only rendering to MPEG2 format or even H.264 takes time.

Also of the processor performance should not be here every current notebook (netbook) is enough.

Could be critical size and performance of hard disks, because the HQ codec but quite brings data rate. Since you'll need a fast external disk, and if possible with eSATA and not USB. Unfortunately, there are eSATA only at notebooks, the senior class.

Otherwise, I see the weakness in the size of the monitor, because you are indeed looking for a compact notebook. Even on a single 19 "desktop monitor, you have the DV editing space problems, but I would not imagine me as the with 15" or less will work.
