Laptop good for AVCHD editing

Frage von H3PO:
Dezember 2008

Hello.

I am looking for a new laptop.
This, I would like to synonymous editing of HD video in AVCHD format to use.
The films should then be (smooth) or via HDMI PS3 (Blue Ray) on the Full HD Flat-TV should be.

Which must be a minimum requirement for most laptop have?

PS:
I liebäugel to time with the new Toshiba A350D
(-> http://de.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/product/Satellite-A350-200/1060929/toshibaShop/false/)

Would that be ok for instance?

Greeting

Good morning
Depending on the software you will not be so happy. AVCHD requires mostly a Quad Core Processor. With PowerDirector CyberLink of it is perhaps possible with this laptop AVCHD files.
I would lead to a faster processor recommended.

Laptops are due to lower performance for AVCHD more problematic - if you want, you should rather than intermediates of Canopus products go. Yes, the Power Director 7 native wants synonymous with less processing power - but because I would be synonymous on a laptop rather skeptical.

Antwort von H3PO:

Hello heimax.

If I need a quad core, it is a reasonably difficult to find inexpensive notebook.

What would be with the Toshiba Qosmio G50 series?

Also helps with Harddisk 7200 RPM (plus second external ev 10,000 rpm Raptor with eSATA) and dedicated graphics card (non-shared RAM). The first notebook with Quad now come out.

Antwort von Marco:

Whether the aforementioned Toshiba with only 2.0 GHz for AVCHD editing is good, because I have big doubts. As you probably already have something on it and will have a much faster CPU have to choose.
A possible faster dual core is at least as good as services do like a quad. Always depends on what application is used and where exactly are you certain advantages of a CPU architecture hoped.
When I was a year ago, a laptop, my desktop PC as a production system (synonymous for AVCHD) replaced. This will work quite well and now there's synonymous for laptops again faster CPUs - only cheaper are not really become.
So when it comes to AVCHD, is either a laptop for heavy investment due, or you can go the route cut through proxy or intermediates - or to stay with much smaller financial burden to the desktop.

"If I need a quad core, it is a reasonably difficult to find inexpensive notebook."

I am afraid, as you dive behind an illusion. Native AVCHD editing on a cheap laptop - it will still take some time.

Marco

I edit AVCHD on meiem large system with Intel Q 6600 processor. Alternatively, on the road, I have a Lap Top of Sonywith a core Duo Processor T8300 with Intel 2.4 GHz. On the Lap Top only runs smooth with PowerDirector view. With Vegas VdL 15, and it is virtually impossible.
Gruss mags

Give it time to me the new power-Books with the NVIDIA support. Upon notification of Apple is "Snow leopard in the first quarter of 2009 coming out of the architecture synonymous with AVC editing suits.
That might be what ...

Try times with the Alienware gamer laptop. Good, but the cost to the synonymous-3.5Kilo Euros but should achieve this. If not for travel :-)

Antwort von RickyMartini:

AVCHD native editing is absolutely bananas!

For really good, smooth cut will require only the trans-coding to ordinary Intermediateformate (eg Canopus HQ codec) and a recent external disk (2.5 "or 3.5") and you can with virtually any dual core properly Book HD Videos snip! :)

On my Acer Aspire 5930G (P8600, 320GB HDD, 4GB RAM, 9600M GT), I believe it and just do not have any performance issues.

You were faster! ;)

Antwort von H3PO:

Hello.
I do not think that I have 3000 euros or more will be spent.
It must be on the laptop so synonymous not run smooth.
I want the DVD / Blue Ray only draw on the laptop and then, if necessary via the Playstation on the 42 "view.
For this, I need but certainly not a "high-end laptop."

Need to 3x more performance for the AVCHD Nativschnitt in the notebook to use than the above Toshiba has stuck inside, then it will go ...
