Hello, at the moment I cut my films in mini-DV. But I think that in the future as the MP4 standard will prevail. I would like to see a camcorder up, in MP4-format recording. Now my questions - it 1.Gib video editing programs with which one mp4 acceptable material may be cut (because it looks like with Premiere from)? 2. What are the main disadvantages of MNI MP4 to DV when cut. I am a long time ago look at a report here in this forum encountered in which the advantages and disadvantages were identified in detail, but unfortunately I can not report this finding.

MP4 and all other MPEGs are Datenkomprimiert, ie because a lot of missing data. On average, you are missing the data and the quality is after the cut worse.

Sorry - Your reasoning is wrong. You buy but no codec, but a complete camcorder. If you thought about making a change, you should first consider, with what resolution you want to work. If you use a standard-PAL-DV camcorder and you're satisfied, there is no reason against the MP4-(or what is synonymous) PAL camcorder to replace. If you are in the direction of HD Resolutionschaust, are you with HDV MPEG-2, AVCHD with two MPEG-4-and with various other memory card camcorders more MPEG-4-variants. Just for the record: DV is uncompressed! Within each frame using all DV camcorder by definition DCT data reduction, what s.Camcordern with Top-Optics/Bildwandlern and finely struktierten motifs (such as branches of a tree) synonymous (slightly) provides. However, the data reduction clearly more cautious than those of the various MPEG versions.

Since it is uncompressed Avi is actually synonymous, leading to an alleged "public use" only create confusion: DV-Avi, as DV camcorders record at least, is compressed 5:1.
