Dazzled - "Perry Mitchell"

From: Patrick Eckman
I want to interweave some kids soccer shots taken with my JVC DV camera
with some VHS recordings I've made of the FIFA World Cup.

Ditto.
Ian, your positive experience with the Dazzle HW Bridge is great for you.
Patrick, go to www.dejanews.com and do a search on 'Dazzle Hollywood Bridge'. That'll do it.
As much as I loathe Canopus, their ADVC-100 has a very good rep as being rock solid and doing what it's supposed to do. It's , PC and Mac compatible. There's a trick for disabling Macrovision on it as well.

>Valerie, I have been with the DV bridge since it's first run. It is my

Ian,
I (as well as Kirk) commented that it was great that the device works for you. However, I fielded more than a few questions/"issues" about the DV Bridge (I'm on a few motion graphic/editing lists as well as a Creative Cow forum leader) and offered an alternative product in the price range (that the poster had for alternatives in light of the DAC-2 being discontinued) that has a very good reputation. I didn't just slam the Dazzle product.
I recommend doing as much research as possible before buying key components. I may be overly cautious myself when it comes to computers and editing gear, because that's how I earn my living. I've gambled on products with a 50/50 feedback record, and will never do so in the futre, especially when there is another product at the same price that has a better track record.
I have no vested interest in the Canopus product (in fact, I mentioned that I loathe the company), so if I'd still recommend that product, you can bet a pound of grilled Jumbo shrimp that I feel pretty confident in it.
So, is Snappy/Dazzle giving you a kickback? ;-)
Valerie

Moving clips - "Perry Mitchell"

From: Al & Caylee Grant
Hi All,
I have a gap between two clips, I want to move all the clips
to the right of the gap on the timeline, but I have to move
them one by one - am I missing something?

[DV-l] D-9, not D9. . . . - "Crittenden, Jan"

JPW asked:
Also, I wonder why JVC adopted D-9 but Pana still hasn't for D-7
(DVCPRO-25). Any ideas?
Why would we adopt the D-9 format? DVCPRO50 is selling extremely well, and
soon will get even better, with new lower cost camcorders and decks.
Additionally with the addition of 4:2:2 firewire in December, it should get
even Hotter. So maybe I did not understand the question.
Are you asking why we don't refer to it as D-9? D-9 describes the cassette
size as well, and our camcorders are not that big. Additionally because
DVCPRO50 are DV based they play DV, DVCAM and DVCPRO tapes. Can't do that
with the D-9 product. So JPW, I need clarification on the question.
Thanks,
Jan
