Audio challenge
Glistening Sheen
Using built-in mobo firewire for DV editing (again)

Audio challenge - "Don Mitchell"

If you do the radio thing, don't skimp on the radios. Get high
quality GMRS hand helds, with headsets and VOX, etc. You should be
able to rent them. The FRS radios don't match the big ones, in my
experience.
If you do the 4 collected by a 5th thing, then you might want to see
whether a high quality scanner might be better for the 5th radio --
better audio, perhaps. I'd experiment with it.
It's possible that if you rent, the rental place will let you have a
base station, which would be the best thing.
I work with these kinds of radios all the time, in different places
at different events. The very best setup is when a local trunking /
repeating provider will let you have the radios in return for a
credit or a little advertising. Even if you have to pay it would
probably be worth it, because those companies know what they're
doing -- it's their business. This means way less hassle for you.

Glistening Sheen - "Valerie Shoaps"

You're talking about 'Shine'; it's all over the place on tv right now. Which NLE do you use?

Using built-in mobo firewire for DV editing (again) - "Perry Mitchell"

From: Randy Quimpo
Interesting. Its been a day since I sent out this post, and no replies at
all. Does this mean that no-one bothers to do DV editing using the built-in
firewire port found in some motherboards? Or that no-one has had any
success?
If thats the case, please share your horror story with us, even if just to
share your pain.:-)
