A DVCPRO50 question - (2) - (3)
v3.5.3 updater - RE: dv-l down?

A DVCPRO50 question - "Perry Mitchell"

From: Enrico Quaglia
Concerning the DVCPR50 decks, is it me, or do these units lack s-video
connectors? Now this would be a problem since on various occasions we need
to transfer on another studio's pc which has a DVREX. I hate to think that
we would have to use composite, s-video would surely be better. I hope I'm
wrong on this one, but from the specs it sure looks to be that way.

A DVCPRO50 question - "Perry Mitchell"

From: Enrico Quaglia
>Unlike DVCPRO, a> DVCPRO50 to standard DV25 transcode would
>not involve a conflict of colour> mapping on our (PAL) side of the pond.
Perry - interesting indeed. What problems would there be in going from
DVCPRO50 to a DV25 system via firewire? I always believed such a transfer
(if the receiving system recognized the data that is...) would yield
horrible artifacts and would generally be unacceptable. Surely there must be
some problem in a digital DV50 to DV25 transfer, is this correct?

v3.5.3 updater - RE: dv-l down? - "Valerie Shoaps"

>Yes , It was a beautiful day here in L.A..
Sunny warm day in San Francisco, too. California sucks, huh?
>Does anyone have any idea what the new 3.5.3 corrects of fixes over the 3.5
>is it worth the upgrade?
You must mean Xpress DV, right?
On the PC side, it fixes stability/crashing problems with RT (green dot) mode, audio drift problems and tunes the Desktop Delay feature. I haven't run the installer (it's a full install - 70+mb), as I've never had any of the problems listed. Not broken, don't fix.
It also adds new templates for the the following decks:
Sony DSR-25, 25-PAL, 45, 45PAL, 1500A/AP, Panasonic AJ-D455P and Leitch DPS-575 transcoder. Also there's a new "Help" for the Avid Storage manager.
