From Sony about ES-3 - "Perry"

Since a few computer 'whiz kids' seem to be coming out of the woodwork, can
somebody explain this:
If I store a typical QuickTime movie (say 10MB) on my 2G Jaz drive I then
have problems transferring it to my Hard Drive under the Mac OS Finder. It
appears to read an error and then gives up.
If I start QT Player and Open the file from the Jaz, and then do a Save AS
to the HD, it all works with no apparent problems!
It would appear therefore that the latter situation has an ability to cope
with more errors than the first. Can anybody comment on this, and suggest
any solution to try and make Finder transfers more reliable. I would like
to use the Jaz for short term HD BackUp, but the above performance problems
make it unusable.
