These can be tiny and are then often called lipstick cameras. You can get very wide (fixed) angle lenses and they are much easier to mount than a whole camcorder. They are designed for industrial use but the better ones now give remarkably good pictures. In the UK (and Australia) we have a regular broadcast update on the state of these cameras by virtue of watching Cricket! A few years ago, somebody down under had the great idea of mounting a camera inside a cricket stump (naturally called 'StumpCam') and every year the pictures get better. This season they are even panning the camera with some sort of remote control! component to DV - "Perry" Vince posted: >Does anyone know a way to get a component output from a Betacam machine and transcode it into DV.< There are several ways of converting component analog components or the digital component SDI signal into a DV Firewire signal, but the JVC '600 deck lets you do it in the deck itself. Anthony said: Actually, the VX-1000 has an internal battery and cannot use a six-cell 9xx series of batteries at all. It can only use the four-cell 7xx series (740, 750) and even the smaller two-cell series (3xx and 5xx) with ease. At least, My VX-1000 used the 3's and 5's with ease. God knows where I got NP-930 from, put it down to a stinking cold and a hangover! I SHOULD have said NP-720. My local Sony shop only sells 740,750 but according to all the information I can find I now need NP-F730 and none of the other types will work.
