DVL-Digest 574 - Postings: Index 16:9 lcd 9" monitor 16:9 lcd 9" monitor - "Perry" I had one of these LCD monitors last summer whilst doing a location job for Panasonic with the DVCPRO50 camcorder. It comes from another division and was originally partnered with a satellite navigation system for cars. It is PAL/NTSC capable and switchable between 16:9 and 4:3, it even has a little speaker. The resolution is not bad but not up to a good monitor. I had a problem with salt spray on the lens, and it was difficult to see it on the LCD. It is also not up to critical focussing. Like many LCD screens, the viewing angle is quite narrow, and on this one the chroma appears too high if off axis. It's a hell of a lot better than the swing out camcorder screens, but still not quite there.
