I've had a ProMax FireMAX-P (rebadged RATOC) in my G3/266 for about a year. It works perfectly well and with one exception has been completely trouble free. Starting in early October (the night before a DVExpo class, as I'm editing the video for it of course!) a deconvenience developed such that the machine crashes on bootup with an "address error" is the card is plugged in and connected to a turned-on Sony device. If I unplug the FireWire during boot-up all is fine. The card does get rather warm in operation but I've never had it malfunction due to heat.
