To Digest or Not To Digest DSR-11 vs DSR-20 (extended) - "Perry" (Rather along the same lines as the current discussion) Some cameras like the DCR-PC100E which is 625, can playback 525 DV recordings in the viewfinder. I have a correspondent who found that if you sent a 525 DV signal in on the Firewire it will actually record, but we are not sure exactly what he has on tape! It won't capture into a computer as either 525 or 625 DV when played back from his PC100E, but I recall previous conversations here stating that the camera didn't send a proper signal out of the Firewire when playing back the opposite standard. I suspect he has a 'mule' that will prove to be a bastard in all respects! Could someone with a PC100 or similar confirm exactly what Sony claims ( in the manual) it can do with tapes from the other line standard. I suspect it is like the DVCAM play situation and is completely undocumented. I need a PC for general Internet and office duties, and for testing PC applications and cards that come my way as a product reviewer. It needs to be fast enough to run EditDV or Premiere without embarrassment! I'd like a pretty basic Mobo to roughly match the features of my Mac G4: built-in audio (digital would be nice) built-in USB built-in Firewire built-in 56K modem built-in ethernet networking in 2001 that doesn't sound like too much to ask does it? I guess it's time I went to get the cows in! Perry Mitchell Video Consultant http://www.perrybits.co.uk (diese posts stammen von der DV-L Mailingliste - THX to Adam Wilt and Perry Mitchell :-) [up] |
