Auto Shutter setting on Sony camcorders - Adam Wilt Would someone please explain what the "auto shtr" on/off setting does on > Sony DV camcorders (PD100, PD150). The manuals only explain that it turns > causes the electronic shutter to operate automatically. Auto Shutter On allows the camera to shorten the shutter time to cope with exposure needs. Auto Shutter Off leaves the shutter at 1/60 unless you manually set it to something else with the shutter speed control. Unfortunately with the VX2000/DSR-PD150/DSR-250, this control actually does nothing -- a bug in the cameras' software. With these cameras, Auto Shutter is always on regardless of the menu selection. The only way to fix it is to manually set the shutter speed. Cheers, Adam Wilt IEEE 1394 (aka DV, aka Firewire) female-to-female connector? - "Perry" If you want to connect together two Firewire devices that are both connected to a Firewire board in a computer, just see if they don't already work. My DO Lynx board does this (loop through) and it may be universal.
