Adobe Media Encoder: estimated size?

Frage von chrismaster:
Juli 2007

Hi,

I am currently in the process of my project to DVD or greater. The film is only
5 minutes long, but the particulars of the estimated size in the encoder to irritate me somewhat.

I have the following settings in the encoder is chosen:
- MPEG2-DVD
- PAL 16:9 high quality
- 2-Pass VBR
- Min 4 Mbit / s
- Target 5.5 Mbps
- Max 7 Mbit / s
- Audio: Mpeg 385 kbit / s

the estimated size he gives me with 718.26 MB / sec on.

What am I doing wrong and how can I interpret this figure.

That would mean that I am only about 30 minutes DVD movie to get ne

(4.37 GB/718MB = 6.08 X 5min = 30 min)

Where is my mistake?

Thank you very much.

The output figures are sometimes so well that they must be wrong. But even if they would vote, this bill would be here still wrong:

4.37 GB/718 MB = 6.08.
This means that you have 718 MB for just over 6 times to get the DVD. After this amount according to your information per second accrues on the DVD would be good to fit 6 seconds, done. This is of course nonsense.

Can it be that somewhere there is a comma slipping? Realistically, would be 700 kB / s = 0.7 MB / s

Or the claim that the software provides, is an absolute size and not size per second and should read: 718 MB in total? This in turn is responsible for 5 minutes very much ...

As always synonymous: The data from the software can not agree.

Supplement: My guess is that instead of 718 MB / s more 718 kB / s should be hot.

Markus

Bitrate Mb / s has nothing to do with size

And Christmas is always in the winter!

What do you mean by this?

Antwort von Joyo:

Whether Christmas is always in winter, which we leave undecided MSL, is in Australia then that nice hot.

Did I perhaps incorrectly expressed.

In any case fit in 700 MB / s over 80 min on DVD

(try)

No.. At 700 kB / s do you have right at 700 MB / s is not. That is what I have in my post above, just added.

Markus

Antwort von Joyo:

Do right, but WHAT is already 700 MB / s to play?

Nothing of course. It was just about synonymous yes, the error in the above account to be found. Or. to show that the details of the software are foolish if they were actually displayed.

Antwort von Joyo:

Maybe go back and look around MBytes Mbits

Antwort von chrismaster:

Hi,

the data-APP 2.0 spits me really like this.

Markus @ 73:
why are the output values as well?

Thank you

Well, because it is about a factor of 1000 of the usual values, as I have explained above. Maybe it's just a bug in the software that you like "Mega" instead of "kilo" indicates. This would in fact approximately correct.

This will probably be.
If you piece by piece, the data comes hochschraubt sometime the point where the display on 999.99 drüberspringt. And what it shows then? Right: 1.0 MB / s - which is 8 Mbit / s and is thus correct.

There was probably a programmer trainee s.Werk ;-)
Apart from this good display nothing because they (as already said) nothing about the actual size is specified and if this file will fit on a DVD. This should be the length of the movie in the timeline with be included. Will not.

Forget it.

Ah, thanks for the help and enlightenment! Even try I could not have the software and therefore not only on the basis of figures given conjecture. But then yes, I guessed right :-)

Markus
