Customer demands MainConcept Encoding - Is that necessary?

One customer requested that I edited a video of me with the following specifications to export a WMV file:
" The film should be as wmv, encoded With main concept delivered. " The bit rate should be between 12,000 and 15,000. " The bit rate should be constant.
I use Premiere Pro CS4 and was always good until now cope with the built-in codecs.
Now I have asked myself and had to realize that the cost of MainConcept Codecs 2000 EUR.
Therefore, two questions:
1) What is so great s.Mainconcept in Comparison to the Premiere Pro codec?
2) If the customer somehow remember if I encode with Main Concept or with the standards of premiere?

Basically, the customer is always right. He wants it that way, then deliver Sun Everything else just brings trouble. Especially: never Verarsche your customers!
It is possible with simple tools, such as VLC any info read about the video stream. UA, of course, synonymous the codec used.
Play with open cards. Either you know yourself well enough matter in the codec from the customer and make one of your codecs "tasty" or you have to do with it as a DVD-copying company that accept only MainConcept. Then you want to deliver what they need the.
I hope you've cleared the VOR preparing your bid, otherwise you'll just have to bite the bullet / expensive apple. And of what I can only advise you, are such ideas as: "If the customer remember this?" Forget it easy if you want to stay longer than one job in this business.

WMV can be quite well with Microsoft's Windows Media Encoder create. Since you do not need Maine - especially WMV now get out of the home of Microsoft comes in and should work well for compatibility of their own house Encoder s.besten ...

Nothing against you TommyB, but this is a classic, highly dangerous slashCAM "tip". Happy hour is to clarify that with the customer and not here inquire. Or he can be so later in the proceedings on it claim that it was so out of slashCAM and he did everything correctly.
