maybe someone can give me someone to help or say where I think the best help. I am self-employed and have to sell before HTPCs. The customer buys almost a working device which he can see into the living room. Now it is so diverse that decoders must be implemented to ensure that DVD is playable etc.. I now have 2 options, either open source or commercial. Let's be on the safe and I buy Nvidia decoder of Cyberlink synonymous ... as always but at least I am paying money for it. Can I use this device as such, then sell?
I now have been searching for days and always comes back to contradictory statements. Once you have license fees for each unit sold will not cede. I simply no longer look through. Added to which I have not previously qualified lawyer for this issue have found. Either too expensive or would like because of the special topic nothing to do.
Does anyone know or can I give someone a tip?

As a non-lawyer, I can give no firm answer. If you want to distribute commercial matters, I would have the money for a lawyer, but in any case invest - a warning with safety is more expensive. Otherwise, should the synonymous chambers, the successfully incorporated elements of IT that can advise.
My view of things: If you install commercial software and to have acquired the license (ie the software quite regularly've bought), the thing done. Free / Open Source Programs for DVD and Co. If you do not know clever lawyers: the c't editorial department is usually very helpful - they have several synonymous lawyers who regularly write for and about new customers happy ...

many many thanks for the reply. Did I ever helped much. With the open source, I have now been dropped from exactly the reasons you've mentioned.
Of course, I want a lawyer's advice with that of CT is a good tip because I will be equal time requests. As I said previously, I had just totally overpriced incompetent cutthroat. (and None can say that ¬ 300 per hour from which 15 min after know existed and I was still verwirter as before) are not excessive. Incidentally, it was a tip of the Chamber of Commerce :-(
