First you need to consider how your intro should look like. Then you can decide which program you need. Much is already cut with normal programs.

Hello, that the effect is something you need no more 2d plane (which all common editing programs only have), but you have already "3d" think. With After Effects(After FX), you can but the synonymous! (if limited synonymous ...)
Fog you could be with a "Particular" create. The fact that a character that emerges is even more complicated. You could with several Particular effects but try something synonymous. (Then you have to but Physic care so gravity, wind, etc.)
Professioneller probably looks like something off if you work with animation programs such as Cinema4d(C4D) or Maya!
All programs are freeware and do not require long experience. So now you can see good times rarely synonymous Intros ;-)
A freeware program that (for me) is not stable and ran not so much can be called "Blender". Search just here in the forum under the "freeware" collection ... (a separate thread!)
