Hi, ask: I will in future films implement more professional than before. Is it worth it to buy a Mac? I have an enormously powerful PC, but with HDV images of more than 80 minutes it crashes almost always. Is busy. Consider me a Mac with Final Cut Pro to buy. Is this the right version? LG

Anyone who owns a Mac, say, does indeed clear, as the fine. Who does not say is, do not be stupid, way too expensive for Designerkram Dork. Search's from you.
That said, I do not think you can tie the professionalism of a film s.Editing program. One should only ensure that the technology (and trouble) are not thwarting the creativity.

In hardly any other industry is the Mac market share so large as in the media - no preference whether photo studio, advertising, prepress and video production. However, "professional" are your films alone will not, and with HDV, which is comparatively small claims s.einen Calculator is, in principle, of course, synonymous definitely a Windows system. Personally, I've changed six years ago for several reasons Mac,'ve never regretted it and would not switch back synonymous want - on the contrary, is soon to me with a new Mac. With such a decision is always subjective gut feeling about it but synonymous. If you have time, you can indeed sometimes the debate is, not to say grave struggles to read this topic here in the forum. In practice, one can work in any case with both systems and be happy.

Perhaps it is worthwhile to look into the reasons for this, because s.Windows PC is not the (if not a hardware defect is present).

Myself am only a month ago of Windows switched to Mac and must say that I regret not habs.
I was always very critical towards the Mac, but it has done a lot.
Now I've ended up of Sony Vegas Pro with Final Cut Pro and am delighted with the brilliant native editing, if you choose the right codec.
Now I am looking only for a good solution between Final Cut and After Effects - I'm happy.
What do you buy the wilster you? Macbook, Mac Pro, iMac?

Can already .. but not nearly as good as Final Cut, in conjunction with Prores.
No matter with what codec was on the Windows Calculator (Quad, 8GB Ram, 64) in the preview always stuttering and the net was still time Full HD.
Now is the Full HD preview and even the only s.MacBook with CoreDuo (on the Mac Pro of course, works without problems). And the subsequent export times are really incredible (in the same format).
PS: I will gladly sell my Vegas;)

I encourage the once synonymous of Marco, but that your calculator - in your opinion - Powerful enough. There must be a problem somewhere, so larger HDV projects will not be stable. Go with the times but only on the ground, ask the software vendor on the cause or in appropriate forums (you have not mentioned what software you use).
If you are looking for reasons to switch, then you better occupy itself once with the respective system. What are we to advise you here? , I am a Mac user as well as biased, as a win-user (although I look at the fanaticism of both camps to be problematic).

So, join 'ne test drive! But your "Mercedes" is determined entirely synonymous nor do if you found the problem.

@ Sammy Strictly speaking (but synonymous slack is taken) s.ProRes not natively, if native means that the recording codec makes everything (the reason for the verhaspelnde NLEs). World view is not against multiculturalism (tens of codecs, all say in their own dialect), for smooth running of the assembly of complex materials, the Borg from Star Trek with Avid and Final Cut Pro is the only right answer: "Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated ". Also codecs that need to be converted ProRes does not come as HDV, and even in the QT container.

HDV any length can be on my oldest PC (Dual Core 2.2GHz, 2GByte Ram, 5 years old) with WinXP and edit Premiere Pro CS2 problem.
