How it looks when you have a look at Studio on the TV?
If there everything is OK, only the LCD?-Display of the camera adjusted or defective. Is it in the LCD display of your camera adjust the brightness (Brightness)?
If the display on the TV synonymous is so dark, at least, the LCD display ;-) OK then the program can be auto adjusted. The Manual should drinstehen how to use the default "all auto riff 'again.
Then you can still take a test: What are the with DV (Firewire) from the dubbed video? When, in contrast to the TV OK, the video output of the camera one part Hau.
Conversely, if the DV material stored material and / or old tapes played properly, the camera part (chip) a Hau, or the recording settings are adjusted.
Good luck The fat Stefan

I would be synonymous tap a (nearly) closed aperture or / and extremely short exposure time. In this case, the recording would be too dark, but the reproduction of existing video tapes would look normal. - You Did something manual set?
The alternative would be perhaps a neutral density filter (ND8) are combined with one polarizer on the Camcorderobjektiv? Or does the MV600 even a switchable neutral density filter?

Canon is at this point, unfortunately, not nearly as generous and as customer friendly as Sony, Panasonic or JVC, but at least the instructions of the successor series MV690/700/usw. There is a pdf file on the Canon website. Since Canon has promoted these cameras so that they have not changed the approach to the operation MV600, you may help next synonymous these instructions.
