PC upgrading, new processor

Frage von silentzero:
Januar 2006

So I would like to upgrade my PC with a new processor with which one could cut synonymous HDV. Currently have the AMD Athlon 64 3500 + and would remain synonymous with AMD.

What do you think of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800 +. Or do you know a better one. He should already have two cores.

is the x2 is recommended that only. The are full of gas.

three times as fast as a Pentium 4 with 3.0 GHz. Pure power.

I am fully erschrokeen when you first start as everything is now so fast. No stuttering at all. And if you use only one processor. Can we do something with the other nich simultaneously.

Previously, only next to the encoding of a movie, or something more than surf the internet inside.

But now you can do anything casually. Assuming the memory and the hard disks to letting

Proof? The X2 is certainly a lot faster than a P4 3GHz, but 3 times as fast, I think is a rumor - he is not even twice as fast as an Athlon 64 ;-).

how shall I will prove it to you?

With an artificial benchmark a la SiSoft or 3 mark?

so says nothing at all.

I have a P4 with 3.06 GHz an AMD XP 2800 + and one x2.

and the Programs that I run 3 times as detailed as quickly

ith the amd 64, I do not know me from. Have no such.

Come on it, of course, synonymous s.was for applications. for some it is "only" twice as fast as Intel. If yes, each strengthening and weakening

I once thanks to you. Maybe there's more to tell ....

So with the 4800 + you're well advised to synonymous but you can buy a 4400 + and 4800 + as it cycles with 2.4 ghz. Then you will save around 300 euro.

Hi,
It is not so in terms of video editing Pentium is always the better choice? So before I spend 800 ¬ for an AMD, I would the money be better in two Xenon with 3 GHz to invest a good server board and a fast SATA HD. This is synonymous to be the reason why no dealer sells a good video editing PC with AMD Processor. Apart from that, most Videoporgramme are optimized for Pentium. The Ediuskarten even need a new Pentium chip, so that they work, so the cards do not run with Geforce chipset, despite that a P4 runs on the board.
I myself have a 3 GHz P4 running on a Socket 478, with 1GB RAM (4 modules with 256MB) and the Raptor of Wester Digital. The whole system runs smoothly and that since about 2.5 years.
Especially in the field Pentium 478 runs the production back, I myself still a 2.4Ghz P4 (FSB 800Mhz) in the cupboard, there are only sometimes when Eaby.
