S-VHS in den PC

S-VHS to PC

Frage von wagon462:
Juli 2009

Hello,
I'm new here and just want time to ask a question. I want to digitize old S-VHS tapes. Have one to JVC S-VHS recorder, which I have connected with my PC via S-VHS connectors. How do I get the images into the PC? There's something I miss? Have only black monitor.
My operating system is Linux, an appropriate editing program (; cinelerra) I installed.
Perhaps one of you can help me.
Regards
Willy

Hi Mark,

It is an S-video input, but comes to nothing.

A corresponding map I (; Hauppauge Nova-S-pros). It is recognized under SuseLinux 11.1 synonymous correct.

What is the connection / what kind of cable you nutzst for such purposes?
I have now tried with a scart cable, which goes to the composite input of the TV card and the Line-in sound card.
At least I can now hear the video. But get no picture.

But where to go next? Do you still have an idea?

Regards Willy

Antwort von Markus_Krippner:

Besides the usual pitfalls, such as eg incorrect drivers or faulty cable, I have no more idea what it could be.

I'm sorry :-(;

Antwort von wagon462:

Hi Mark,

've now tried everything possible, including cable replacement, unfortunately, only sound. Have now been using to avoid frequently read here in the forum, an analogue / digital converter in order to sync problems may arise. Would that be advisable? But I do not Fire / Wirer input. Perhaps nochn Tip haste for me.

Regards Willy

Antwort von Markus_Krippner:

For example, a converter for picture and sound would certainly be the cleanest solution. Sowas starts at just under $ 100. Even with USB - if you do not have Firewire. Often there is then even DV editing software here, which is sufficient for your purposes.

If your target media is DVD, I would imagine, but synonymous, that you simply nen DVD recorder you buy, and your bands are playing directly into the recorder to DVD - no computer in between.

Noch ne alternative - if you are uncertain about technical matters - for you'd probably still, when you once turnest s.Deinen local video club. The help you ensure next.
