Streifen im Bild nach Kompression

Stripes in picture after compression

Frage von tico5000:
Juli 2009

hello together,

I have the following problem:

s.anfang my videos is eingblendet a gradient. the format of the films the way, is 1920x1080. If I see the whole uncompressed from after effects render the wonderfully made. Now I want to create with the adobe media encoder is a compressed video to play it s.rechner liquid. I have now tried several formats and settings (specifically, h.264, mpeg2, divx ...). each format of the course provides the pop filmes somehow s.anfang "streaked out. even with the highest compression settings, these still roam the building.

there would have been a ne idea how to avoid it?
I am s.end:)

thx schonmal
tico

Antwort von Axel:

If you confirm, instead of a sample image times the following description or reject would:
In the finished rendered, compressed output file, the course is no more gently and evenly, but stage, divided into bands ...

Antwort von tico5000:

yes. exactly. that hits the nail exactly on the head!

Antwort von Axel:

It's called> Banding. What is meant is that resulting from the redistribution of a greater depth to the 8-bit with its 256 levels of brightness exact values Posterize the just cause artifacts coarsen.

Remedy? You yourself have to test what works of the following alternatives s.besten in your case:

1. You could in the course of AAE (as when rendering color bit depth, color depth) of specifying 16bit or 32bit float. For details, I can not do, because I do not (AAE; more) have. Would I sit in front, I would find it. I do believe belongs to the project settings. For background, see this During your editing in 8-bit determines not to accurate color and brightness values, but rather says that as well, just about. Fuzzy Logic, the Einschachteln a coordinate value with approximations instead of exact arithmetic. We owe everything to the chaos researchers. In the end, the value is left is the most similar, and there is no banding.

2. You could apply the filters mentioned in this thread. They are called either anti-banding or
dithering

Antwort von tico5000:

erstmal thank you for your response. The thing is, that of course in uncompressed file so synonymous with 8-bit looks good and harmonious fades. after the compression that occurs stripes. I suspect it is more of a problem with the compression settings. Only what?
because even with a high quality h264 with stone settings that occur in stripes.

I've uploaded once an example:

http://rapidshare.com/files/252543240/TESTER_uncomp_5001.mp4

The file was then compressed with Adobe Media Encoder with the following settings: VBR, 1 pass, target bit rate 40, Max Bitrate 50

So what can I do this training strip in compression to avoid?

Simplest solution to take: no gradient. More clearly defined areas of color. Or a solid color. Or clarified from the Stillimage later than this film.

Antwort von Axel:

You can see that the course is perfect, just not during the Aufblende. I do not think it will help you in this case, but VBR means that the encoder considers a gradient background for a picture, with the low data rate suffice. Whack! But now you've previously black. Even smaller rate. I suspect that the banding would not occur in a high, steady rate. A CBR is inneffektiv for H.264. So it VBR. VBR should always have multiple passes, so no 1-pass.
I do not think that there is a way to specifically prohibit the encoder, while curb of a leveling-FadeIn the data rate, so I wrote that it probably does not help you.

What you can do: Insert problems, prior to encoding. Grain (;) generated "film grain" with some random variation would be a way, the encoder is all too glaring Simplify, Kleinrechnen the image prohibited. Could be very discreet. Tests, reports.

I guess even know that you are trying to help me, but that's no solution of the problems. it can not even be the color gradients are generally prohibited in the background ...

Axel describes the entire technical - by which you can try to find a workaround. But in principle, the effect will occur precisely every time you compress gradients. (; grad and in particular 'artificially' generated gradients, which are very linear)
If the gradient for a supporting role in the film, which he had not been replaced by something else?
