Hmm, wichtger is as a really good software that you have an A / V-capture converter. (Not like most with their graphics card, so you usually get a picture-sound translation) Look at times in this thread here: http://forum.slashcam.de/vhs-s-vhs-digitize-vt29915.html I think that would help you.

VHS to get well on the Calculator to a number of factors are important.

Since I'm Home, I have no money for expensive equipment. But because I have many VHS tape, I go the following way: 1. I walk out of the VHS recorder provided with a SCART cable (OUT to get out). 2. The cable has a jack on the opposite page. So I'm going purely in AnalogIN my Digital8 Cam. 3. From the Digital8 Cam then I'm going purely via Firewire (IEEE1394a) into the PC.
Thus I have had very few expenses. The cable does not cost much and you have about IEEE1394a synonymous stable signal.
Your VHS tapes are badly damaged, you will not be able to avoid a more complex recording and editing. But this is a different topic for another question. :)

the goal is simply more space. :) ie I have approx 100 self cassettes (recorded broadcasts from the 90s rock (headbangers ball, even if that someone else knows?)).
I just want to save only 1 to 1 on DVD. 1. so just more space is there. 2. so that the recordings do not become obsolete even more
I realize that keeping synonymous dvd forever. But I have to save it just in a few years to a different medium.
The cassettes are ready, all in DVD-stereo. Some Exempt synonymous in S-VHS. As a source recorder I have a Panasonic NVHS 1000 EC. So a really fat (and then outrageously expensive) part. So I think that it would be s.besten when I received, at least for an S-VHS S-VHS input use a tv card. I have a tv card which is analog. That is, probably, that I would then have to convert the recordings later. Better would be probably a Digital TV card, right?

Basically true, but with old VHS tapes but it does not synonymous of very bright ... The tapes are definitely not better during storage (mold, mag. Crosstalk, tape stretch, polymer degradation) and the players are anyway s.Aussterben. The DVDs can just copy at least no losses while they are still legible.
It would be interesting times for people to ask that much with tape vs. DVD to have done - as it looks in the video stores? How many times can be borrowed a tape and an average of how many times a DVD. With the Comparison is not fair, because something else again pressed DVDs are burned as a DVD.

either DVD or VHS are for "eternity." Unfortunately we have with the DVD still can not collect experiences. They exist simply not so long.
