I'm on the search for a firewire card came across the following.
At the company Conceptronic wied something of "extended-BIAS-HANDSHAKE mode" written. Unfortunately Nirg explains what it is.
You know what about it?
Here are the Page: http://www.conceptronic.net/site/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=1&tabid=200&Cat=30&grp=3020&Prod_ID=866&Prod=Ci1394B&st=2
I would like to connect my miniDV camera of Sony (HC90E). I need to know when something else in the purchase choice?

When two nodes are connected together, it is unusual for the bias to be detected by both nodes s.the same time. The node that first detects the bias will try to initiate a bus reset, but will be unable to complete the bus initialization until the other node detects the bias. When the other node detects this bias it will also initiate bus reset. This process could interrupt operation of the bus for tens of milliseconds, which is undesirable. Nodes are the IEEE 1394 devices. Bias is the voltage change on the cable and the synonymous is used to detect if devices are connected. So it looks like Philips has poured an improved detection method for its IEEE 1394 chip into silicon. The Manufacturer of chip cards with this IEEE expect a better recognition of camcorders. That would not be bad - who is going to invest a notoriously ailing camcorders and PC connection?
Good luck The fat Stefan
