The question should rather be: "How do you secure your digital Stillimage / video data?"
A backup medium is not enough IMO, it should at least one more (; eg be DVD / BD involved in addition to the HDD).

I raise my DV tapes onto the hard disks and with raw and finished product. This comes from the final product or the DVD. However, I have the s.gleichen place. If my house burns down, both are gone. But then I probably synonymous other problems ....
However, the important "final outcome DVDs" in the family and acquaintances scattered, so at least there is hope that under such a disaster somewhere but survived a final product ".

Mini DV, data DAT, MO, NAS, backup server unit, web-based partitions, ..... it directly 2 to 3 depending on the order and copies of material distributed on the 2 to 3 Locations (; lockers).

Hello,
My mini-DV tapes are used only once. Then numbered and created an index. Of all the finished DVD's, an all-arichiviert with Box, plus the project files and the associated accessories, such as Royalty Free Music and images stored on a hard drive are. Should anyone want to have time changes, I can always draw on similar material. Since 1996 I have archived all the video material so accordingly. Although a bit expensive, but it has been already paid.

I play the finished project back to Mini-DV, DVD's and also the Archives, the DVD image on disk yet. Thus, changes are, on average, although only limited availability, but until now it has served. I delete the Project only synonymous of the plate, if the order is taken and paid for. I back up my projects on two external hard disks have different dates of manufacture. Bands gibts not at Ex1 yes. One plate is at my flat and the other safely at my parents house, so I'm safe against fire, etc. synonymous.

First of all comes with me (on the calculator, Raid 1). Depending on the project, the raw data will be deleted after ner time or not.
On important matters, I copy (data, raw data, project files and final product) to second nen Calculator (; also Raid 1).
Well, and then I still NAS Server nen in the cellar, which also works with Raid 1, but there are really only the most important things on it.
Problem with the whole, everything is in the same house, though a calculator in the 1st Floor, a basement and the NAS server in the basement, but with two fire doors separately from the rest.
During the fire so there is still hope, but it could happen anyway, that everything would be gone. I have firmly made synonymous, since this year off to work.
