I've recently gained ne sony VX1000 and now needs to determine that it fills the whole image, but are stripes on the left and right s.rand two black. with my Canon MVX150i that was not so. something is wrong or is this normal?

5-8 px wide strips on the left and right are normal. Has any type depending on the camera (vllt exception to the rule. The mvx)
