as the thread title suggests, I would like to get some space in Leading matters lp mode on tapes, but have never tried sameness, and wonder whether it is at all possible, you need tricks or special software. gibts s.hardware here 2 sony camcorder ... someone ahnung?

You talk of MiniDV tapes? With things you say video in MiniDV format?
Simply the camcorder on the menu long play set. It is not recommended - the quality is the same, the data is less.
