U-matic DUB to S connector

os x upgrade - Adam Wilt

To chat? Feh!
How about:
1) Improved speed throughout
2) Faster graphics (Quartz) even with older video cards
3) WAY faster graphics (Quartz Extreme) with newer video cards
4) "zero-conf" networking
5) Better AFP performance; vastly better SMB performance
6) You can bet that when FCP 4 comes out, it'll require 10.2.
7) Spam filtering in Mail
8) The dock doesn't have those annoying horizontal stripes
(Um, er, I mean, so we have heard...)
Philip Hodgetts tonight said that 10.2 is the first version of OS X that's
really ready for widespread distribution. I'd tend to agree.

U-matic DUB to S connector - Adam Wilt

The Y/C 688 signal's Y is the same as in a Y/C 3.58 (S-Video) connection,
but the chroma is still modulated. I know that some TBCs will accept the
DUB signal and extract the Y from it, but many (including the I.DEN I have)
just use the color information in the composite feed.
I don't remember seeing any U-matic DUB to S-Video converter boxes per se.
Doesn't mean they don't exist, though.

Where to get: PAL to NTSC coversion? - "Perry Mitchell"

From: Phil Pratt
Does someone have a good source (preferrably in the eastern half of the US)
to get Mini-DV and Hi-8 coverted from PAL to NTSC? I would want the
conversions to be done in either DV or DVCAM.
I've been quoted per half hour plus the cost of tape. Is that typical?

Phil,
if you need a low-cost but good quality software solution
check out this new PAL/NTSC converter released a few days ago:
