After DJI had previously only teased the upcoming launch of the Pro version of the recently introduced gimbal camera (Osmo Pocket 4) in China, the global launch has now been officially announced for May 14th. DJI is not presenting the new Osmo Pocket 4P in just any location, but rather in Cannes, exactly one week before the start of the film festival there. With its electronic stabilization and new zoom lens, it is naturally very well-suited for capturing footage of the red carpet and the arrival of the stars.

Official DJI teaser for the Osmo Pocket 4P
However, since the first detailed review of the new Osmo Pocket 4P with its dual camera is already online, we are already familiar with all its technical specifications and features, which are based on the Osmo Pocket 4.
The biggest and most visible innovation is, of course, the second camera with a 3x optical telephoto lens (12x digital zoom) and a 1/1.5" sensor, which now opens up new possibilities for both close-up and long-distance shots, as well as a natural bokeh effect. Video is supported via the zoom camera at up to 6K with[number missing in original] frames per second.
With the help of its two cameras, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P offers flexible switching between different angles of view or 35mm-equivalent focal lengths, such as 14 mm, 23 mm, 28 mm, and 70 mm. You can see the effect of this in the two embedded test videos. The 4P also offers a new professional color mode (D-Log2 with 10-bit) as well as a "Live Photo" mode.
The display is the same as that of the
Osmo Pocket 4: a 2" OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 556 x 314 pixels and a brightness of 1,000 nits, which can be rotated to allow for both landscape mode shots and portrait shots (or vertical videos).
According to the review, the Osmo Pocket 4P is slightly more top-heavy due to the second camera, and the operating time is slightly reduced because the additional weight must be stabilized.
