We recently noticed the words "Discontinued" on the Alexa Mini product page, and ARRI has now confirmed that the camera is indeed no longer in production, since an improved and expanded successor model, the Alexa 35, is on the market. The Alexa Mini LF, on the other hand, will remain in the product line with its larger sensor.

ARRI Alexa Mini is no longer in production
In late May, ARRI introduced the long-awaited Alexa 35, which, with its newly developed ALEV 4 CMOS sensor, accommodates true 4K resolution on an S35 sensor surface for the first time at ARRI. It also has a fairly compact design. That the Alexa Mini was discontinued with its introduction is nevertheless somewhat surprising, at least to us.
ARRI will, of course, continue to provide reliable service and spare parts for the ALEXA Mini, according to the statement. Extensively tested, refurbished ALEXA Minis are still available as part of the ARRI Approved Certified Pre-Owned program.
The ARRI Alexa Mini was introduced in 2015 and quickly won many filmmakers& hearts due to its form factor, and not just in the indie space - according to the statement, it&s even "the most successful member of the ALEXA family of cameras to date."

The body of the new Alexa 35 is similarly compact, but with dimensions of 147 x 152.5 x 203mm it is slightly larger than the Mini (140 x 125 x 185mm), and the weight is also higher, weighing 2.9 kg instead of 2.3 kg. In addition to the higher resolution, it also offers better dynamics and a new Color Science.
