Important for approval are, among other things, dynamic range, resolution, codec, data rate, color space and workflow compatibility. Netflix has stipulated that 90% of the final total running time of a program must be recorded with approved cameras. The Blackmagic Design URSA Mini Pro 4.6K (G2), Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K OLPF and URSA Cine 12K LF are already among the Blackmagic cameras approved by Netflix.

For each approved camera, Netflix also provides a more specific production guide - here the
Camera Production Guide Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65 - which defines the exact recording settings and provides tips for the workflow for Netflix 4K Originals productions, which are also of interest to filmmakers who are not shooting for Netflix. Among other things, it also contains a graphic that illustrates the dynamic range of the Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65 at different resolutions.
### Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65
The Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65 builds on the Cine 12K, but uses a special, custom-developed 65mm sensor with 17,520 x 8,040 pixels resolution and a dynamic range of 16 stops. It integrates fast storage directly into the camera and enables fast network connections to synchronize material directly on set. Like the 12K Cine-URSA, the 17K has industry-standard Lemo and Fischer connectors and 8TB of high-performance storage. Up to 4 hours of Blackmagic RAW material in 17K can be stored on it with full readout of the 65mm sensor. Media can be uploaded via a high-speed network and synchronized with the Blackmagic Cloud. The lens mount can be switched between PL, LPL, EF and Hasselblad.
