SDI source becomes USB webcam. The Blackmagic Web Presenter HD, like its predecessor (which is now discontinued), follows a simple but extremely pragmatic idea. It "disguises" a 12G SDI source as a classic 1080p USB webcam, which can then be used (via computer) to access live web streaming services from YouTube, Twitter, Twitch or Facebook. Since their interfaces usually only allow a webcam as input, a professional HD or UltraHD SDI signal can be "smuggled" into such apps via the Web Presenter HD. Among other things, this also makes the setup for streaming simple and straightforward. Likewise, the Web Presenter HD also works together with all sorts of video software as a USB webcam such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, Open Broadcaster, XSplit Broadcaster and more.
Live streaming without a PC via Ethernet or smartphone. Alternatively, the Web Presenter HD (just like the ATEM Mini Pro and Extreme models) can stream live via its integrated H.264 encoder via its Ethernet port directly without a PC simply stream to the network. All you have to do is select a streaming service and enter a stream key to start streaming.
In addition to the Ethernet port, for example also as a backup (if the connection to the streaming server is interrupted, the Internet automatically switches from one connection to the other), streaming can be done via the mobile data connection of an Apple or Android smartphone connected via one of the two USB ports. Tethering works with the latest cell phones for 5G speeds as well as popular 4G phones. The Web Presenter HD automatically detects a connected cell phone and accesses its Internet connection.

Operation and Monitoring. On the integrated control front panel, in addition to an LCD and menus, there is also a USB webcam output. A dedicated monitoring output in 1080p via HDMI and via SDI displays both a preview and an audiometer as well as the streaming status including trend lines for the codec data rate and technical information about the SDI input video and embedded audio.
Blackmagic Web Presenter HD Monitoring
The free Blackmagic Web Presenter utility on the computer (macOS/Windows) can be used to manage multiple Web Presenters in one place and update settings or software. A connection is easily made via the Web Presenter&s front USB port. Alternatively, one can configure the devices remotely via Ethernet.
Blackmagic Web Presenter HD Interfaces. The Blackmagic Web Presenter is equipped with a 12G SDI input and loop-through, and supports input video formats in SD, HD, and UltraHD 4K up to 2160p/60, converting video to 720p HD for streaming. When the software detects lack of internet connection bandwidth, the Blackmagic Web Presenter can automatically reduce the frame rate. It also has HDMI and SDI outputs for monitoring, an Ethernet port, and two USB-C ports. Power comes from either a conventional power connector or, for mobile applications, a 12V input.

Blackmagic Web Presenter HD with Blackmagic Streaming Bridge. In addition to being able to stream video to various streaming services, the Blackmagic Web Presenter can also serve as a private SDI video link between different studios using Blackmagic&s Streaming Bridge. The ATEM Streaming Bridge is a video converter that can receive the H.264 stream from a Blackmagic Web Presenter and convert it back to SDI video using its built-in H.264 hardware decoder. This allows video to be transmitted between remote locations over a local Ethernet network or via the Internet.
The Blackmagic Web Presenter HD costs 509 euros and is available now.
