DaVinci Resolve 19 Beta 3 for Windows now also supports Qualcomm's new all-in-one CPU, NPU and GPU processors (Snapdragon X Elite) www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/media/release/20240606-03. Thanks to NPU acceleration, users on computers with the ARM processor should be able to utilise up to 4.7 times faster performance of AI tools such as Magic Mask and 2 times faster performance for Smart Reframe - probably compared to typical Intel and AMD CPUs with integrated graphics.
not even selected journalists get Qualcomm notebooks to test - but if you already have access to a model, you can download the public beta 3 of DaVinci Resolve 19 for Windows ARM with Snapdragon X Elite from the Blackmagic Design website.
Blackmagic brings DaVinci Resolve 19 support for Qualcomm/ARM on Windows
We had already summarised initial information on the new Qualcomm notebooks at two months ago. The new Qualcomm SoCs promise competitive performance and efficiency as the first non-x86 Windows processors.
Devices with the Snapdragon X Elite are set to hit the PC market in a few weeks. Numerous Windows PC manufacturers have now confirmed that they intend to release devices with the new chip: The current list includes Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Honor, Microsoft, Samsung and Xiaomi, among others.
Unofficial benchmarks put the new devices on a par with Apple's M3. The extent to which the AMD and Intel devices with NPU just presented at Computex will be able to compete here will become clear in autumn at the latest.
